ABOUT THE PLACE
The Manor House of Moesgård in the woods south of Århus is the home of Moesgård Museum with archaeological and ethnographic collections.
The permanent exhibition presents many unique archaeological finds from prehistoric Denmark. Two finds from the Iron Age - the Grauballe Man, the only completely preserved bog body, and the impressive sacrifices of weapons from Illerup Ådal - are the absolute highlights.
Changing special exhibitions deal with archaeological and ethnographic topics.
To the north of the exhibition galleries various houses of the Viking Period have been reconstructed, among others the Hørning Stave Church.
A prehistoric trackway passes reconstructions of an Iron Age house, and graves and cult sites from the Stone Age and Bronze Age.
